New ladle lip design

Before 2022, the ladle lips were made with a ladle digger after pouring castable. This resulted in a very flat lip that was difficult to maintain clean. The lips were very often clogging resulting in overflow on the side of the ladle, causing metal loss, loss of time to clean the pit and damage to the ladles.

In Q1 2022, the implementation of a new way of constructing the lip was proposed by a working group (A3 Ladle).

A form was built and is now incorporated to the ladle before pouring the castable. The lips are now deeper, reducing significantly the risk of clogging and overflow.
