The Lab generates a large amount of waste: solids, liquids, etc. Some reagents used for wet chemistry must be treated as hazardous containing concentrated acid for example. In case of wrong procedure to handle them, some contamination of our or sewage could occur.
With the help of Environment Department, a list of all waste has been done and the way to handle them has been defined. Some dedicated areas have been designed for confinement.
A waste management system is now in place and used in day-to-day establishing a clear waste handling routine, saving time and reducing the risk of contamination.
